Neocon Ballroom
A lot of people are scratching their heads about the need for a bunker under a ballroom. The recent assassination attempt by Cole Allen just poured fuel on the fire of conspiracy theories. Things don't add up. What's with the A.I. data-center for example? I have a hypothesis.
I think it's all to do with the threat of a coup.
The factions
To understand my hypothesis, you first must understand that the 'Deep State' in the U.S.A. is not a monolith. There are two main factions: Corporate Globalists and Neocon Warlords.1
Corporate Globalists
They are the people who write nostalgically about the 'rules-based world order'. They sit on the boards of big companies like Disney or Exxon Mobil. They are besotted with getting their kids into the best universities. Their tools are:
- N.G.O.s
- the U.N.
- the C.I.A.
- most of the newspapers
- the I.M.F.
- pension funds
Neocon Warlords
The Neocon Warlords view the Corporate Globalists as weak. The Neocon Warlords favor a fascistic model of government, whereby there is more overt violence and coercion on the workers. The Neocon Warlord is a purer form of an oligarch. He is more individualistic. Whereas the Corporate Globalists freak out at chaos, the Neocon Warlords thrive in it. Their tools are:
- Big Tech
- the F.B.I.
- Israeli and Saudi governments
- most of the Right-leaning alternative media
- Military Intelligence Corps (U.S. Army)
- private 'vulture capitalist' firms
Under Donald Trump, the Neocon Warlords took over.
Family feud, not a war
This is not to say that the two factions are always butting heads. Often, they have the same goals. Often, however, they differ. It's more like a family feud than a war.
The U.S. Military
The U.S. Military is a key factor. It never aligns totally with one faction or the other. Its leaders swing back and forth.
At the moment, it is much more in the Neocon Warlord camp. We can see this in actions like the kidnapping of Nicholas Maduro. For them who want to delve deeper into this line of enquiry, Zach 'Wolves and Finance' Degregorio has an interesting piece on the military, Donald Trump, and how the 'Orange One' was an asset for a Neocon takeover all along.
The pendulum is swinging back. Soldiers under 30 tend to be Paleocons. They find the Neocons' rhetoric about foreign wars to be unconvincing, to put it mildly. In my opinion, the military leaders are beginning to swing back. They are thinking "those Corporate Globalists weren't so bad after all." They see Neocons being mocked by their Zoomer grunts and it sinks in. They are dismayed by the strategic failures of the Iran War.2
The War Room
At first I thought: "This bunker underneath the ballroom is for when the masses storm the White House." In other words, I thought that Trump's government was fearing a populist uprising. Then, I thought of reasons why that was not a good hypothesis.
- Armed guards and Apache helicopters could take care of rioters.
- If the uprising somehow got past the bullets, the rioters would trash the ballroom.
- Trump would not hide in a bunker while his beloved ballroom was getting trashed.
So, then I thought: Which extremely dangerous group wouldn't trash the ballroom?
Special Forces doing a coup!
Trump, and especially his Israeli allies, are planning, in my opinion, for a situation whereby some generals stage a coup.
Coup procedure
A coup d'etat is more orderly than you might imagine. A political leader is imprisoned, his guards killed, and his loyal sidekicks are meted out either fate. The goal is to make the changeover smooth. The main thing that must happen is that the new leader must speak to the nation and give the people a sense of calm and hope.
The location
Probably the biggest piece of evidence in favor of my hypothesis is the location. There are so many safe spaces for Trump and his team to flee to. There is already a war room of sorts (PEOC).3 It does not make sense to build another one. It does make sense if, first, other safe spaces might not be safe; and, second, the current safe spaces have weaknesses well-known to insiders.
Thwarting the coup-leaders
Trump and co. would need a war room in a bunker mere meters away. They would need technology mostly unknown to the C.I.A. From this safe space, they could straight away...
- ...communicate with allies in Israel, Saudi Arabia, and other countries;
- ...cut off the financial means of the coup-leaders;
- ...use Big Tech to hinder the communication of the coup-leaders;
- ...speak to the nation and tell them of the treachery.
A side-hypothesis
Another way of thinking about this is with a side-hypothesis:
Israel has crafted cutting-edge cyber-warfare tech which the C.I.A. doesn't know about yet, and the Israelis want to give it to the Neocon Warlords in charge, rather than share it more broadly.
A point towards verification would be if the managers of the build were Zionists.
How this affects you
Adding one more piece of writing to the overcrowded space of heterodox geopolitical commentary is not my purpose. I like to hone in on solutions for the individual. How might this hypothesis, be it true, affect you? There's good news and bad news. Let's start with the bad.
The bad news
Coups happen when democracy has gone out the window. If the generals were to take a coup d'etat seriously- remember that the penalty is death- then things must have gotten really bad.4 It would be a further ramp-up of chaos. I don't need to spell out some of the hardships springing therefrom.
The good news
They'll fight amongst themselves. It will be more like the Medieval Period. For us anti-technocrats, who fear Totalitarianism the most, it's a boon. We get more space for freedom.
- Two other-- and more sophisticated-- forward-pushers of this notion are Chris Hedges and George Monbiot. See here for example: this article on Substack. (Return)
- In my opinion, it would be nice if the Paleocons could be a third faction. This is unrealistic at this point in time. (Return)

- I'm not saying democracy is the be-all-and-end-all, but it is our system, and its failure is necessarily a systemic failure. (Return)
